there's a lot of me inside you

monica pointed out to me at some point long ago that i like to collect canned food. i don't know where this started or why i feel the compulsion to buy my food in this form but it's true. i watch myself fill my cupboards with peaches and soups and beans and am unable to stop. i generally prefer to eat fresh food so i think i must be storing up for armageddon. my emergency kit, perhaps? i've decided to ban myself from the canned food aisle until i've used up what i have. anyone have recipes for corn, mixed bean salad, tuna, and pineapple?

that is bizarre. i am just like that. i only make us fresh fruit and salads to eat, but for some reason i go CRAZY with the canned/ unperishable. i guess i'm just an obsessive hoarder. angela fancy shymanski

perhaps my years of single living can help you with your extraneous can collection

-corn = if it's in a can it doesn't deserve to live (my personal thought)
-tuna = casserole (can go horribly wrong)
-bean salad = eat it when you are really hungry after work, your taste buds will enjoy the vinegar mix and ignore the lack of originality
-pineapple = some have said this goes well with cottage cheese (simple but tasty)

then again an emergency kit never hurt anyone ;)

oooh... did Dan just wink at you?

My favourite canned item is chick peas. Mmm... hummus. I know that wasn't the question but the only recipe I can think of at the moment for those things is um... a tuna sandwich.

i actually do have chick peas that i bought to make hummus, forgetting that i do not have a blender or food processer of any kind. i haven't quite reached the point of desperation where i will mash them with a fork but i sense it is coming soon. right after i roast all that garlic in my fridge. it will be wonderful with my tuna on some vitality bread. mmmmmmm. hungry.

and because i'm lazy i'm just going to have a popsicle for dinner.

I was doing a little Facebook stalking (don't judge me)and came across your blog Erin--it looks great! (I remember you telling me about it last summer when we were looking at those psychotomimetic Jerry Garcia ties with their imaginative names and you got all these ideas for names for blog posts.)

Anyway, reading this particular post I realized that I do the same thing as you, but with greeting cards. I have a whole shelf on my bookcase dedicated my collection. I rarely write anyone cards, and on the occasion that I do, I prefer to make it myself. I wonder what the psychoanalysis of that would be.
