i went surfing for the first time sunday morning. it was great. i didn't even attempt to stand up, i just laid on the board and floated to the shore. i loved it. i'm going again next sunday. that's a regular beach day here, before the meeting. for the rest of the day, every time i closed my eyes, i felt like i was back on the water.
then monday i started another study. this time it's with a girl about my age who works in a yogurt shop. she speaks very good english. so today at five we have our first study. i'm nervous. my study on monday didn't show up, so i have to go in to wal-mart today to set up another time. so people here are willing to study, but they're not perfect. it's still hard to pin them down.
i love these yogurt shops they have here. they have yogurt and fruit and granola cups for cheap. and they're sooooooooo good. they're all over the place. corner stores, hair salons, yogurt shops, fruiterias, taco stands... there's about one on every block. and i found i great fruit and veggie stand right across the street from my study. i got fabulous tomatos, a cucumber, limes, pears, a jalapeno... i think that was it... o, and mandarin oranges, all for less than two dollars. sixteen pesos. i used the tomatos to make fresh salsa. yum. we have a constant supply of fresh salsa and guacamole in our house. it's great.
and now, to balance the bragging... on sunday at the evans house, as karen very nicely put it, "what usually goes down the toilet, came out the shower." i don't know how that can happen, but apparently it did. repulsive.

so, i thought i would update u on how my life is, just incase your wondering, and if yur not than u get to read this anyway,,,,,so i gave a talk last nite. you realy should have been there,i was rewriting it in the back room, i was at the point of crying, i had too much information and i had kassandra as my householder ahhh! (it was her first time going on stage, but she was a pro!) k so first i lost my spot and instead of sitting there with an awkward silence i said "and, um i just lost my place" then i still didnt know where i was so i just skipped 2 paragraphs! (and i was still over time)but then Oh right i forgot to mention at the start as i was getting up on stage my heel didnt quite make the stair oh no i didnt trip i was just like whew! that would have been a good start eh? okay so i get up there i sat in the wrong seat but thats okay, then i went to give the first scripture to read and i gave the audience the wrong one so i said "oh wait thats the wrong one!" hey thats alright for a simple mistake like that, but u know me i had to keep it going, so i turned to my refernce page and i saw oops i gave them the right scripture in the first place by that time they all had turned to the wrong scripture that i had told them was right so then i was considering just reading it and making them think they turned to the wrong one, but by that time i just wanted to get it over with and i felt bad so then i corrected myself again and told them no the first scripture i said was the right one, then everyone had to turn back to the first scipture.. So the whole talk was winged but i made ppls laugh... and i got alot of complements on it one sister said it was my best talk i have ever done,, hey guess what did it on short notice so it wasnt even counted *sigh* oh well i wish u could have seen it u would have laughed. *mom says hi and to tell u that we miss u* well i have done enough writing. Ps,,,,,, i wanna surf!!!!!!! if u ever move down there like move down there never come back to prince george move im coming to visit!! *lots of love, i miss u! whitney* i started a study!!!!
